Family and Youth Services Program

TPC Family and Youth Success Program focuses on youth ages 0-17 or older if the youth is attending high school that meet eligibility guidelines of: family conflict, school attendance issues, delinquency, or issues pertaining to running away. Youth who have been adjudicated and convicted of either a misdemeanor or state jail felony offense are NOT eligible for FAYS services. FAYS highest priority is to support youth remaining in their homes.

Another aspect of the program includes Universal Child Abuse Prevention Services (UCAPS.) UCAPS is prevention based activities intended to increase knowledge and awareness of child maltreatment and promote healthy parenting and family interactions which are delivered to the community at-large.

FAYS Program covers the top 21 counties in the Texas Panhandle. These counties include: Potter, Randall, Moore, Dallam, Sherman, Hansford, Hartley, Hutchinson, Carson, Gray, Wheeler, Roberts, Ochiltree, Lipscomb, Hemphill, Deaf Smith, Oldham, Donley, Armstrong, Collingsworth, Hall.

Services can include:

• Family and Individual Session
  • The purpose of the Family and Individual sessions is to promote protective factors, develop youth coping skills that will help build their resilience, provide guidance and support to families and individual youth. Family and Individual sessions are not a substitute for individuals who need intensive or long-term counseling or psychiatric care.
  • Family and Individual Counseling
    • Family and Individual Counseling is defined as a therapeutic model of counseling designed to reduce conflict and negative behaviors, improve communication, change thought patters, learn acceptance and intervene with solution-focused, trauma-informed approach. Family and Individual Counseling is not a substitute for individuals who need intensive or long-term counseling or psychiatric care.
    • Parent Skills Training
      • Parent Skills Training is an evidenced based program curriculum delivered to a group of adult caregivers in a class/training setting for the purpose of improving family functioning skills and building resiliency. Topics could include: communication, problem solving, decision making, etc.
      • Youth Skills Training
        • Youth Skills Training is defined as an evidenced-based program curriculum delivered to a group of registered youth in a class/training setting for the purposes of improving youth coping skills and building resiliency. Topics could include: conflict-resolution, anger management, managing peer pressure, etc.
        • Universal Child Abuse Prevention
          • UCAP promotes child abuse awareness through primary prevention awareness activities, healthy parenting and family interaction, increase knowledge and awareness of maltreatment.
          • Crisis Services
            • In the event of a crisis, there is a 24-hour crisis response team (MCOT). Emergency crisis intervention services and crisis stabilization available to all individuals in crisis.
